It's a working title.
Last time on Sue's Medical Extravaganza Soap Opera .....
"Doctor! My last radiation treatment conflicts with another doctor. Can you ever forgive me?" *cue sappy music*
"Certainly Sue. I will bravely change your last appointment so you can see this other man."
(Sigh of relief) "Thank you doctor! How can I ever repay you?"
(Taking off glasses and staring intently at Sue) "You can come back to me ... in a month."
-next scene-
(Radiologists are acting slightly suspicious)
"It's my last treatment and I shall be rid of this place forever I hope."
"Yes, but before you go, please wait a moment." (The sound of small machine being turned on) "Now, go if you must! Adieu! Adieu!"
(Sue passes out of the scene surrounded by bubbles being made by small child's bubble machine) *cue sappy angelic music*
-next scene-
"Doctor, what is my prognosis? Am I doomed?"
(Handsome, swarthy doctor not bald at all and with a rich East Indian accent answers - actually he's mostly bald and not especially handsome. Scratch the previous, he's a kind doctor with a driving passion for solving medical mysteries, still East Indian, still bald, not so much accent) "Every came back normal from your surgery. You should expect to live a long a healthy life."
"Thank you doctor."
"I must see you again for ... a colonoscopy. I promise to be gentle, except for the preparation ahead of time. I can't do anything about that. See my receptionist for the scheduling."
(eyes brimming with tears) "Certainly doctor. Until then, farewell."
*sappy music*
-next scene-
(Doctor quickly enters room startling Sue.) "Hello Sue. How are you feeling?"
"Oh Doctor, I'm doing much better. How does my blood work look? Am I doomed?" *cue sappy anxiety music*
"Your test results, they're not here! How can that be?" *sappy music intensifies* "I shall check ... the computer."
(moments later)
"Yes, here they are. They are close to normal. You're not anemic anymore. That's strange, your iron count is down from the previous test."
(Sue looks at the doctor knowingly) "Doctor, for the first test I took iron the way I used to - ferrous sulfate, one a day. For the second test I did as you prescribed - twice as much and ferrous glutamate."
"Very strange. Shouldn't be lower." *cue clueless doctor music* "Come back in 4 months so I can see if your levels are still improving."
(sighing) "If I must Doctor. If I must."
What will happen next on Sue's Medical Extravaganza Soap Opera? Stay tuned! Friday's episode - A visit to the Coumadin doctor.
