I've had a lot of concerned comments and emails about how we're doing since my horomonal, "God, please spare me from my family" post. Sorry to leave you hanging. :-)
We're just fine. The vacation was exactly what we needed. Things were never rocky, just stressed. We're looking at schools, private schools, gifted schools, doing our first set of self-employed taxes, house hunting, grad school hunting, GMAT studying, appendectomy operation paying (yeah, try several thousand buckaroos), down-payment saving, and then the every day living kind of shit. You know, paying regular bills, doing chores, raising two kids, cleaning up vomit and doing a ton of work living.
We're looking to leave in June, and we don't know where we're going to live, and I'm talking city, state, house living. We have to make decisions beginning in May, and that's 10 weeks away! We're growing to hate this city, and The Hubs resents his lower-paying job. We've been in a rut for a while and we need out. We've been talking about big changes for a while now, and now is the time. We're going to go about this in the Pete Johnson fashion -- we're going to find the city, then find the job and school. We're going to find a place we want to live for the next 20 years and we're going to let our kids grow their roots.
Big decisions, big stresses, big strains.
I'm trying to convince The Hubs to take me skiing again next month. Maybe for TWO nights, if we can.
