An exerpt from an email from my dad's college buddy, Matt Thomas, who is quite literally a warrior in every sense of the word:

Hi Kyle,

Like I said, it will be fun to train you!

Carter Wong, (Big Trouble in Little China was his US movie debut as the most powerful bad guy) was my Muey Thai instructor.  He brought Joseph Milien (5th degree Taekwondo and Haitian National Full Contact Champion), also European Full Contact Champion 51 fights 49 wins, 49 knockouts, to be my sparring partner and I trained him to be a bodyguard...

I can teach you the essentials of what you need to know.  Again, each style has strengths and weaknesses.  I've been a white belt 27 times.

Now you could have gone to the Police Academy and spent 40 hours learning to shoot pistols as well as you did in 4 hours from me.  The same goes for the martial arts, your choice.

Defense against a single unarmed assailant usually takes 16 hours.  Defense against a single armed assailant, 16 hours.  Since we would be learning in a much smaller class and you are smart and athletic, we could probably do both in 8 hours.

Sick.
