Wow, I've really missed posting here! But things happening in my life the last half year have kept me from it. And looking at the last posts I made here, I'm so happy I quit! The posts would've got a lot more depressing if I decided to continue. Yeah, the last year, up untill summer, was not a good one for me. But that has changed now, and life is good again ^^
A quick update about what's been going on in my life lately, and where I'm now:
This spring I graduated from univerity, and have now got a bachelor degree and can work as a pre-school treacher ^^ Well, in theory I can work as that.. Thing is, I recently left Norway and moved to Scotland to live with my boyfriend. so that means I won't be able to start working as a teacher, not yet anyway. Have to wait till my English gets better and I know the local culture. But right now I'm just happy to start at the bottom and work my way up. I'll be overjoyed if I just get a job, because that will mean I can stay here, and this won't turn out to be just a long vacation =) So yeah, will spend the time ahead of me job hunting. wish me luck! ^_^
Have also been working a lot on my cosplays, but I'll make a separate post about that later on, where I'll include pictures ^_^ something tells me that that post will be image heavy! *lol* Currently I'm working on my Black Rose and ball cosplay for Amecon. Was meant to cosplay as Nia (DearS) aswell, even has all the fabric and other things I need to make her. But my boyfriend's family only have a really old sewing machine. Old and in bought-before-WWII by the looks of it. It works, but it doesn't sew very neatly, nor doest it handle elastic fabrics very well.. And I've got no time to hand stitch a whole cosplay, in addition to those I already have to complete, before Amecon.. So it's sad, but I'll just have to leave her for later.. On the other hand, I now know excatly what my first pay check will be spent on when I get a job! XD
So what have my days been spent on after I got here? well, I got here Wednesday the 16th of July. Was home, or what's my temporarily home, around 10pm. Went to bed not long after that seeing as I was tired from having run about on airports all day long. That and we had to get up early the next morning to catch the train from Glasgow to London. Arrived in London at something past 2pm. Spent a few hours in Camden. Oh, I've missed Camden sooo much! A few hours there is not enough! XD Need to go early down for the Oct Expo so I can spend the Friday there. Well, I didn't get much, save a hat and a t-shirt and a really cool Gothic Lolita collar and wristband (luves them!) But my boyfriend got a really cool shirt and coat, old victorian, aristocrate type of coat and shirt for the Amecon ball ^_^ I'm sooo looking forward to when we get our own place, I'm then going to steal that shirt and walk around the house in it. as it's so comfortable, and it looks sexy on! XD
after a few hours we had to leave the awesomness that is Camden, and make our way to Drury Lane, via Charing Cross to drop off our luggage. We had tickets for the Lord of the Rings musical (again, we saw it last summer aswell XD). It was just as great as last time! even better when i come to think of it. Might be because I've got the CD and could sing/hum along to the lyrics this time ^_^ Ending was sad though, it was Michael Therriault's (Gollum) last day on stage. So "Sam" held a speach, everyone got teary eyed, and "Gollum" got flowers. It was a very nice way to end it. Made me want to be there for the very last show aswell, at the same time as that would be too sad an experience.
Well, the show ended, and we had a whole night to spend on doing nothing XD we couldn't get our luggage back untill 7am and we had no hotel to stay in. And they kicked us out of the train station after the last train for the night had left XD But it ended up beeing a very nice night, albeit a cold one. Me and my boyfriend spent it walking about the Charing Cross, Trafalgar Square (I think XD) and the Millennium Bridge area, all the way up to Waterloo station. Got to see people doing maitenance on the London Eye, and in all got to relax and enjoy an area that's usually packed with people. Now we were alone most of the time, save for when a person or three walked by. I won't need to hear Big Ben for a while either. Having listened to it every 15th minute for a couple of hours is enough XD.
The following morning we got on the train to Maidstone, where my boyfriend Greg's cousin was to get married. Got to relax and meet Greg's family and relatives (I UNDERSTAND DRUNKEN GLASWEGIAN!! I ish proud! XD). The wedding was held Saturday, and it was a very nice wedding. The bride was from a Scottish family, and the groom was from an English family. So the wedding ended up being a mix of traditional Scottish and English culture. A very cool experience for a Norwegian girl! ;) The rest of the day was spent doing wedding stuff; fancy dinner, party and talk to people, and complaining about evil shoes that tried to kill my feet. They nearly succeded, I am sure.
The couple surrounded by the kilt clad men, the youngest being just 16 months old (he was soo cute in his wee kilt! =D)
Sunday we went to Greg's aunt and uncle in Canterbury. They had a big BBQ with lots of yummy food! =D We spent the night there, and went back to London and by train up to Glasgow again Monday. The days after that have been spent enjoying not having lots of people around all the time XD and cosplay working. wish I should really get back to now.. Ta-ra!
