So, this showed up in my front yard this morning. We have wild turkeys that wander around, including one who has chicks right now. They like to visit under the bird feeder we have right next to the windows and pick at the seed that's been dropped. I heard mama turkey getting more and more upset and went to the window to see what was going on. I thought maybe one of the feral cats was stalking her chicks.

Well... I was sort of right.

Not gonna lie, my first response was "Ooooooh, KITTY!" The second was, "Where's my camera?!" These were taken through the living room window.

As he/she started to wander back into the woods, I went outside with my pistol and fired a shot in the air to hurry it on its way. As much as I love seeing one, I don't want it to get comfortable spending time this close to humans, because that will get it shot; it's already been stealing neighbors' chickens (in broad daylight) and inciting their wrath. Probably a yearling that was kicked out by mama, trying to find territory and provide for itself. If it doesn't go back deeper into the forests and find natural prey, it probably won't end well. So thank you for the beautiful sight, pussycat, but please go and keep yourself safe.
