I can quit any time I want...

My nursery habit is getting a bit outrageous. It's a petunia not a monkey on my back. Anyway, tonight all of the flowers are transplanted. Tomorrow I'll do some of the work I was hoping to do last weekend, before a bladder infection and hate mail from the IRS disrupted things. (Tax payment was misapplied to the wrong SS#; it is supposedly being corrected but will call and make sure this week.) I've managed to get some of the row cover frames put together and will use them to protect some of the blueberries until the fence is done.

Daisy and Cricket through the kitchen window. Not the best photo since it was getting dark, but enough to see that the "kitten" (Cricket, the white cat) is now bigger than her mama. I'm not sure what it is, but something about her face is just striking.

Here we have the beast on his chain. Milo is strictly an indoor cat, but he does enjoy some patio time under supervision. He's getting pretty good about wearing his harness. He wanted to be outside with me, but I needed my hands free. Shannon hooked a length of logging chain around a post so that we could clip his leash to it and let him move around.

He's easily able to haul that chain around, believe it or not, but it's just heavy enough that he isn't tempted to take off running after flying bugs. He wanders around the patio and the walkway and enjoys the sunshine while I play with potting soil.

When he's ready to go back in he just goes up the steps to the back door and stares at me.

Hannah doesn't want any part of that "outside" nonsense with the harness and all. She prefers a nice nap in a quiet spot, thank you very much.
