Yey new CD!
The tracklist for Galneryus' new CD (Pheonix Rising) is out!

Or rather.. the tracklist has been out sometime ago already. Tear off your chain has been sort of "leaked" on youtube already. I liked how it sounds, especially the overflowing appegio melody line contrasting with the low pedal on the bass. If its not neo-classical, I don't know what else it could be. It is amazing how the band can pull off a powerful tune and get parts of it sounding like an orchestra (the bass pedals and the running melody reminds me of an orchestra piece where the cello& double bass holds a note and the violins play overhead >_<). But overall, the band's tone has become more mellow, which may not bode so well with those who miss the sharper tone present during the Yama-B/ Yu-to (Leda) era...Anyway the song makes me want to hear more of the album XD
The band has mentioned that this would be their most versitile CD yet and frankly, I can't wait to see what kind of other sounds they are going to experiment with =) I think, they are getting better and better, technically and melodically speaking. Oh, and I have to credit their stylist for making them look better too XD
What's also interesting is the content of the "extras" which come with the CD. This content is rather new, being only released yesterday. I'm quite excited for the 初回限定盤 ボーナスDVD which contains the footage from the 2 Encores performed at Akasaka Blitz in March this year.
Its the performance that Leda (Deluhi) took part in =)

I am not sure if Leda would appear in the DVD but am hoping so >_< There have been many great reviews of Leda and Syu's guitar duet from a number of Japanese concert bloggers. I couldn't get to see them live so I am hoping that I would be able to see it on DVD. Although there is a chance that Leda may not appear too... because he didn't play for the entire concert. Am just hoping that the songs in the DVD includes Leda's playing >_<
Well, I have pre-ordered this CD + DVD and the mode of payment is cash on delivery again. Good thing is that I won't be parting with my cash until I see the actual product. Bad thing is that I may miss the delivery due to school - and the first week of school at that. Have been given a mentoring job by my supervisor.. so I anticipate that I would be quite busy guiding a new student around especially over the first few weeks. Ah.. and I also got to get more of my literature review done T_T Just hoping that the time I reach my accomodation magically coincides with the delivery.
