DSO Amazing
So.. reading Galneryus' stuff lead me to listening to Diablo Swing Orchestra.
So, Avant-garde metal is awesome ok. Its all Syu's fault for suggesting the integration of jazz/ swing and metal in Galneryus' songs. Yeah and also the fault of the rest of the band for encouraging him. At first I was like "what you talkin' guy?" Then I got linked to DSO and metal never sounded more creative!
There are so many awesome songs by DSO (especially on their album titled "Sing-Along Songs for the Damned & Delirious") but here is one of them which I find really interesting!
And here's a tamer example of swing + neo-classical metal.
Realized that in both songs, the bass and drums play a really important role in setting the "mood" of the song. <3 the way the 2 bassists walk their notes.
Am excited for Galneryus' new album which will be released in October this year. I hope there would be more of these kind of hybrid tracks. The band does seem to be really keen on experimenting with new sounds and so far, they just seem to be getting better and better =D And I hope Deluhi will come back on the scene with something explosive. Leda-yan, we're counting on you too!
