’30 Rock’ is back and it’s rockin’ hard! Last nights episode was utterly amusing and guest starred Larry King.
I loved it right from the start! Their discussion about women and Elisa, Lemon actually forgetting that she’s a woman at various points and the adorably geeky hi-5 was great! Also, Jack imitating Elisa’s accent was so made of win! Alec is superb at imitating people! I LOVE ‘30 ROCK’!!! Here's a video of Jack's imitating skils.

Ok, Jack is having problems with Elisa, as she wants commitment in order for them to have sex. I was left gapping when Jack actually said that he loved her. He even made a pillow with ‘Janisa’ embroiled into it…
In the meantime, Liz has forgotten her phone in a cab, and the cab driver asks her for money to return it to her. If she doesn’t comply with his request, he’ll send a ‘naughty’ picture she has on there to all her contacts. Kenneth agrees to go pick up the phone with her only if she says they’re friends. At some point he asks her why it’s so important to get her phone back and she says she has recorded a lullaby her grandmother sang to her before she died. When Kenneth asks to hear the song, she actually sings ’99 Red Balloons’!!!
Tracy is interviewed by Larry King. While being interviewed, a special report comes in announcing an economic meltdown. Tracy predicts that chaos will ensue and it actually does when people freak out hearing Tracy saying it. I like this subplot just because it reflects current events. ’30 Rock’ always manages to intertwine fiction with reality without it becoming boring and it’s really fascinating. Btw, was Larry King wearing a WristStrong bracelet?? Moving on.
Jack is affected by the meltdown as his weekend plans with Elisa are canceled when his coworkers storm his apartment to figure out what they’re gonna do about the meltdown. Elisa leaves his apartment in a huff and Jack realizes that he has his priorities wrong. He runs after her and intended to chase her to the airport but doesn’t have to when he finds her waiting at the bus stop. I loved this line: “I was about to do the whole run to the airport thing like Ross did on ‘Friends’ and Liz Lemon did in real life.” BRILLIANT! He compares Liz to another TV character, when in fact she is a television character! He continues by saying that he loves her and then asks her to marry him. I freaked out right there! Seriously Jack? Marriage? Again?? Don’t you remember Bianca, or the bitchy hollow bone chick??
Liz has a fight with Kenneth when she says they’re not friends, but then he helps her out by giving the cab driver the money he wanted to give the phone back. Apparently, Tracy had hidden hordes of money in Kenneth’s Page jacket and that’s how they paid off the guy.
Elisa finally leaves Jack because she thinks he’s not ready for commitment. Thank God! It’s not that I disliked Salma Hayek’s character; it’s just that she was dead-weight on the show. Anyway, Elisa breaks up with him via recorded video. When the video ends, there’s a clip of Jonathan playing the flute shirtless in Jack’s office!!! So so so funny!
Well, Elisa’s out of the way and I’m hoping Drew will also break up with Liz soon enough. What can I do? I’m a Jack/Liz shipper!!
