its cool to be in school..
yesterday was the first day of school for most emuers. my expectations for my classes were very high.. because its phase one of the teaching program and some classes for my major. needless to say i was a bit disappointed, (then again monica.. it was only the first day)
my 2 credit reading class seems to be a ton of work. more so than most 3 credit classes i have taken. we'll see if i survive..
my technology class for elem ed.. was a little different than what i expected..but i guess in a good way. we will be making straw towers, balloon vehicle, an artificial limb, clay boat, and alka seltzer rockets.. to just name a few.
my nite class on wed is SOFD.. don't really know what it stands for.. but its part of the teaching program and we'll learn about 1. democracy, diversity and the purposes of public schooling 2. schooling, social structure, and social life 3. diversity, inequality and eduation 4. teachers and the ethnics of caring 5. the politics of what gets taught.
my teacher for my SOFD class.. is .. i don't know.. i haven't yet found a word to describe him.. hes real close to 60 yrs old, knows more about the internet than i, taught in the middle east, mexico, the U.P., and EMU, calls himself an "information junkie", gets 3-5 hours of sleep a nite, was a PRINCIPAL at age 19, thinks the state of michigan should pay for college students tuition, and has a quirky sense of humor.. you can't really tell when hes kidding. .. he really likes to talk about himself.. if ya can't tell. but i think hes a really good person and strives to be the best teacher there is out there.
THURSDAY: morning.. woke up @6:30am to get ready for work.. ate breakfast, drank one cup of coffe.. all ready for work.. and about to walk out the door to brush the snow off my car.. but went online.. and was notified that its a snow day. im so hyper b/c of the coffee theres no way i am going back to bed..
