I <3 my job. Yes, I'm only serving tables, and who'd a thought that I'd be happier doing that, than working with children, or in an office, behind a computer. I always thought I wanted to do these things, but the excitement always seems to run out, where as with serving, there's never a dull moment. Not to mention I make like 3 times the money I would at a daycare or office position with half of the hours! :) ROCKIN'!
It's a casual dining, bbq based , but VERY popular spot about 10 blocks from our apartment, in the "Southside" of the city. It's a very popular spot, right by the University Hospital and lots of businesses, so we stay busy during lunches. This is the only restaurant that I've worked in where you make MORE money working days, than nights. The best part being, I'm going to be mostly days!!!! Girl that worked lunch today made close to 120,just on lunch. She pulled a double, but split her tips with me, as I was doing my last night of training with her. How nice of that was her to do that???? I mean shit, I did work my lil' booty off, but I wasn't expecting cash in my pocket. It was a nice surprise indeed!
Well, I have to be back at 10 am and didn't get home until 10pm, but had more work to do in my training book, then unwinding and so forth and so on, now it's going on 1AM. I have no eaten dinner or taken a shower. The shower is waiting until the am, cutting me short 30 mins of sleep.....BASTARDS!!!! O-well, I can't complain, I get to work Friday lunch, which is THE BEST SHIFT! Momma's maken some money, and it feel's damn flippin good to be able to be moving around, on my feet all day, lifting, walking, etc....things I wasn't sure my body would ever be comfortable doing again, after the neck injury, sickness and just over-all letting myself go during those times. I'm glad to see that that little "go get'er" is still inside of me....I've missed that side of myself.
Well, I must sleep, 730 comes early.
