There's something about "found" items that's just so mysterious and cool and fascinating. If you've never seen it before, please check out
Found Magazine. You can spend hours there. They also have books that you can buy and a magazine you can subscribe to. Joe's brother Jim found a note written on an envelope in a parking lot that we need to send in. It was written by some guy who was all apologetic for showing up unannounced at some woman's house (and some other stuff that didn't make much sense).
In a similar vein, check out
Mic In Track. I've been listening to these all afternoon. You just gotta love that someone out there thought to search for all of the saved mic in tracks that people had on their computers and then made them into music.
Keeping in this vein, but branching out into a capillary perhaps, is
this site, which showcases art that has been created from other art.
This one is my favorite. I'm always at a loss as to what to create - a blank canvas is really intimidating. While some might see it as cheesy, I find this idea pretty inspiring.
