A Shining Star
In Memory of Mark Philip Hardesty
June 16, 1980 to June 16, 2003
You had it rough when you were young
The years went by, you were often stung
A handsome fellow you grew to be
Throughout your life you meant the world to me
Hair of gold, ringlets that showed
All the fun we had in the years that told
Your artistic nature; your loving ways
Oh yes those were the good old days
Saying good bye I will not do
Because I can never stop loving you
Your memory is with me; your smile lingers on;
I hear your strong voice and your laughter's not gone
The tears they are many, my heart feels a void
The pain is so deep, it' a mountain too steep
A distant sign reads, Don't drown in your Grief.
The wind whispers softly through a new fallen leaf
"My life was important however too brief."
Echo's remain of what Mark would have said,
"Remember the good, don't look back on the sad,
One day we'll unite, and that is a fact."
I say in return, "Too young that you were to leave us this world",
"I wished you had lived on with our grand little herd"
It was not in the cards that were dealt on that day
We know not when it's our time called away
Mark, "You will be missed by all whose life you did touch,
we will Love you forever, till our hands we in clutch."
"Until we meet again, I'm with you and you are with me,
I'm always your Aunt Debbie through eternity."
Mark replies with a grin, "In the stars you will see my destiny,
Look to the sky when you're feeling blue,
wish on a star, and I'll be with you."
A Star has been named by the Hardesty Family in Honor of Mark.
