Author's Notes: Short and silly, but I'm rusty with that stuff.
It doesn't hit home immediately, no - it's only after moving on all day, when night falls and they decide they somehow need to rest, that they (the group as a whole, but the two of them particularly) realize what happened, what that means.
Juliet won't stop bailing her heart out, and it takes all of Sawyer's sense of humanity not to slap her for that.
Then morning comes unexpectedly, so identical to every other morning, and while he's still in numb denial she is already two steps ahead, ordering him to get up and move. It's the cold bitch, back from the depths of the sad little girl.
If this was some kind of sci-fi comic book, he bets her hair would have gone straight again by now.
