But that's OK!

My EvilTwin has stopped me posting for the longest time, whispering in my ear that it's very hard to write on a moving planet always falling falling falling through space, and we'll all crash sometime soon, so what's the point anyway, so just keep running, that way you know you're not dead...

Also my laptop has become the agent of evil-work-sucking-seduced-into-trying-to-save- the-world, or at least prove I was right about it, so typing for fun is not part of my life anymore...

I've been really really busy. Almost two years ago I put my money and time where my mouth has been, and took a real job in my local hospital, just at the beginning of the Hospitalist movement here, which is not at all the same as the US model, but I believe will meet some of our own peculiar needs. As that involves quite a lot of development and endless meetings and marketing and trying to get the model set up with some flipping common sense, and working with brilliant, inspiring people in Health, who have now moved on, sigh. Oh, and actually DOING the job - so the time seems to have, um, slipped away.

Then I took up sailing, for some stress managment, and there went another giant but absolutely joyous chunk of time, and writing seemed further than ever from my thoughts.

But sometimes a girl just has to make a choice.

Like not buying the utterly stunning 46ft heritage sailboat I didn't buy on the weekend for a measley extra $200k on the mortgage. Grrr. Sometimes I hate being sensible. So I bought a permanent account with LJ instead.

Blast - that means I have to write something in it....

Oh, and I've got a little renovation going on at home. I've had a bereavement or two. Made a few new friends to take care of. Noticed the odd relationship gone by. Still have my Jack Russell.

And I think Dark Forces are trying to shut my hospital down. Complete with its ricketty plumbing, um, original ? decor - a shambling, eccentric, unfashionable space, still it's untidy refuge for our family of local waifs and strays - and that's just the staff. The first salvos have been fired, so clear the decks guys, cause this one may be going down, but it ain't going down without a fight.

So that's where I've been. Still quirky after all these years.
