Happy to Say He's Sad
I was getting ready to leave for work yesterday and Wilbur was moping. He didn't want to say bye-bye. He was lying on the floor and wouldn't look at me. I asked him if he was mad that Mama had to go to work. He kept his head turned. I asked him if he was sad that Mama had to go to work. He looked up at me with his eyebrows and ears up, made strong eye contact, and wagged his tail. Yes yes! Sad! He really likes it when he has chances to communicate what he's thinking or feeling and is understood.
