Displaying my ignorance of media

A few years ago, Sean introduced me to this great little song by some geeky European guy. I was instantly hooked: loved it right away, even though I couldn't understand the words. Within a year, I heard some of the local Russian immigrants playing the song in their little racing cars.

Lately I've been hearing some songs in English on C89 that reminded me a lot of the song. Then Mirella was listening to Pandora on her new laptop (Christmas present) and I asked her what one of the more catchy songs was called. "It's by that guy you like from Sweden. You know, Basshunter."

I've relistened to the original version of Boten Anna, and it still is the best. The newer english version ("Now you're gone") ruined the story and neutered the song, but it's still catchy. I would rather have the original, so I looked it up on Amazon. I can still get the original imported to my home: for a mere $229.43 (plus shipping). Urgh.

No wonder people pirate mp3 versions.
