Dinner Party!
Tonight was Rachel Kraus's fabulous Valentine's Day Dinner. 'Twas quite the exciting event. Shall I start from the beginning?
It all began a month or so ago on one of my many walks with rachel ... o who cares! so she told me she was having a party.
Last weekend she called me over to make invitations. We designed them as we tanned on lawn chairs in her back yard. (I'm going to miss this type of February day when i'm at MIT ... ) My sister then brought us home made pina colada (why is another very long story) complete with hand made umbrellas and fresh pinapple slices. yummy indeed. my mommy loves me very much. the next night we cut out paper hearts and the deep red backing and pasted everything together while watching Step Up with Ilana. They were o so beautiful. :)
Being a second semester senior and all, i have barely any homework. so my mother suggested that i make my dress for the party! we went to the fabric store with only the vaguest idea of the top of the dress and from there let the fabric inspire us. surprise surprise! it was the PLAID that caught my eye! so i chose three different plaids, two types of tulle, and a stretchy solid to tie everything together. all in pink of course, for valentine's day. up until the last second before i left for the party i was working on the dress. i'm quite happy with it, actually. though i don't believe i'll ever have the chance to wear it again. it's a halter with a stretchy pink torso and plaid bust. the skirt has six layers of tulle underneath with three handkercheifs and three loops of plaid on top. i call it couture.
the party itself was fun as well. there were drinks (sparkling cider, of course), salad, appetizers, the main course, and dessert (cakes, strawberries, and ice cream). then there was what i call the fifth course, apples to apples. i do believe i won. the cards tell me that i'm "luscious, peaceful, and sensual" (that's sensual like helen keller, by the way) For some reason i was then overcome by fatigue. cuddling is so good. i can't wait until march. really really can not wait.

in other news ...
i've been having dreams that my mom dies! scary! except that it's not my actualy mom. like in one dream i was rory and lorelai was pregnant and about to die and was wearing a lot of sweaters. i remember feeling so sad it was painful. then last night i was some middle aged lady in a frumpy robe and my mom died who was some random old lady and i was somewhat unaffected so my best friend who was another bathrobe clad old lady came to help me grieve. *shrug?*
school is pretty yawn. so i'm a second semester senior and i really don't feel like i'm working all that hard. i got a B in spanish at SMC and i didn't even have to take the final. straight As at pali. (which probably means i'm valedictorian *crosses fingers*)
and now for the FUTURE!!!
i'm seeing wicked for the second time tomorrow!
on the 25th i'm going to MIT for my overnight! yay!
at SOME POINT i'll be less contagious and will get to have a life again!!! SO EXCITED!!! wish me luck!!!
