Interesting test...I wonder if it has to do with the relative quality of the actual shows or the relative innocence of the time? Or the nostalgia factor?
I think it really comes down to the type. My favorite type of show is a procedural. The same thing happens every week, more or less.
I also like optimistic shows. Most of the time procedurals have lots of violence and people being horrible to each other and angst. One of my favorite parts of Agents of SHIELD this week was Agent Coulson telling the science team that they just can't say "this is impossible" and give up.
Person of Interest is kinda a procedural show, and even with the loads of violence they are running around trying to prevent murders - even though their biggest impact was indirectly revealing that a pharmaceutical company falsified their clinical study results, thus saving a few thousand people from a deadly drug interaction.
Emergency! hits the sweet spot between optimism and realistic procedural.
