Matt has been in the hospital since Thursday night.
Matt has cardiomyopathy. Which basically means one of the inner chambers of his heart is larger than it's supposed to be. They aren't really sure yet what caused this, but they suspect a virus. Once he gets home from the hospital, which will hopefully be tomorrow, he will go over to UCLA as an outpatient for some tests to try and figure it out. We're very lucky they caught it when they did. According to his bloodwork, he was well on the way to a heart attack by the time we got him to the hospital. Now his bloodwork is back to normal, and his blood pressure is back down too. His heartrate is still higher than normal, but they have him on meds to lower that. He's doing much better, although he's suffering from some pretty intense cabin fever. He's ready to come home.
