Moroccan/India Lounge

Mar 07, 2007 11:36

Hello Everyone! I've been a little scared to post my rooms but I decided to go ahead take the plunge. I'm a renter and decided that a dining room wasn't much of interest for me, so I converted my dining room into a lounge/relaxation room. I chose a Moroccan/India decor. Hope you enjoy & welcome!

It is almost impossible to get a picture of the entire room but this is what it looks like when you enter.

This is the Sari fabric that is draped in the entry way.

Here is a full view of the entry way.  Please ignore the glass leaning on the wall.  I need help moving it so unitl I get help it stays there.

This is the main wall in the room. Just above my tv console is a mirror and to the left is my bar. Above the bar is a picture & my candle lanterns.

This is a close up of the mirror above the television. I love the detail.

These are the candle holders, Buddha & what nots  that are sitting next to my TV on the console.

This is the bar area

My bar! I got it off craigslist for $25 but when I got it home I noticed that it has a tag on it from Crate & Barrell marked $125!  I love my glasses I think they are unique.  Cheers!

This is what is on top of my bar. The bust is from India & of course decanters. I need to put liquor in them though.

This picture is on the wall above my bar. It's an abstract picture of Saraswati. She is the Hindu goddess of learning and the arts.

Here is a better shot of my candle lanterns that are hanging around the picture of Saraswati.

This is a view of the other side of the room from my stairs.

Here are some pillows from India that are on my chaise

This is my table from India. It sits next to my chaise

On my side table I have my bamboo plant, Buddha head, and photo frame from India.

To the left of my chaise is a chair that I got off craigslist for cheap. It was natural wood, so I stained it to match my dark wood.

On the table next to the chair is my Sari Pot. They were used by women in India to carry water.  I think they are very pretty but thank God for running water in the house!

I'm a belly dancer and love my hip scarves so I sat one of my hip scarves on the table.

Above my chair is a window. I have rollup bamboo blinds on them and another Sari drapped around it. Here is a close up of the fabric.

To the left of the window are two shadow boxes that I found. They were also natural colored so I stained them to match. In them are Moroccan candle holders.

To the left, is my Ganesh. Ganesh he is the God that removes obstacles. He is known for bringing success and prosperity.
That's it! Thanks for visiting!
