So I've been looking for houses until my brain hurts. I've decided I really, really want to buy in the Westbury, Parkwest area near Meyerland. I have literally stalked that neighborhood for the past week. I'm sure the residents are getting ready to report a suspicious vehicle any time now. It is so much nicer over there than I thought it would be. Hell, it's nicer than where I live now and the price tags on the houses are much nicer too. My problem now is timing. My lease is up in December and I don't want to break it. So I hope to find a house and close on it by late October or November. That way I will only have to pay one or two more months of rent to my landlady and it won't overlap my mortgage payment. There are quite a few nice houses to choose from in the area. It's close to my job and my husbands job, the galleria, the med center, downtown and it's only a short trip around 610 to my parent's house. This is important to me because I visit them every weekend and my mother also turns 70 on the 15th. I want to be near them if I have to see to their care in the future. The only hitch to that is the Hobby Airport area is skanky and too far from work. I wouldn't dream of buying over there and Pasadena is even farther out. So I think the Meyerland area is a nice compromise.
Take a look and some of the properties I've been stalking - er - considering
