Remember the Girl Scouts who just wouldn't clean up?
Well, the janitor complained to the afterschool coordinator about our table! We had to finish our stuff outside today! How VERY embarrassing! The GIRL SCOUTS don't know how to CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES!
How can 4 good girls clean up for 10 careless ones anyway?
Even after all that, I still had to scare the girls by saying that if we don't clean up well outside then we will never be able to do arts & crafts in afterschool again. Although I don't know how much of that was truly fear or the truth... I've heard the janitors have complained before about the cafeteria being clean from other activity leaders.
But the GIRL SCOUTS????
I'm embarrassed & hurt that even with 4 months or so of me carrying on a once a week program that nothing has been impressed on the girls at all.
The only thing I can hope for is that the girls appreciate the extra attention. I've heard so many times that kids just don't get enough of it at home. Maybe this helped them somehow... I hope.
And I also hope that they will be satisfied by the number of SWAPs they made... some didn't quite make it to 10, but some say they may not show up either.
