News of the weird:

So Curtis and I were watching the news last night and there were two stories that left us wondering.

1) A 3-year-old was pulled over yesterday morning for driving his mini Ford Mustang on the street with his 2-year-old friend as a passenger. Apparently he woke up earlier than his dad, woke up his 2-year-old friend, got the car keys, and went down the road. AND it seems, though they didn’t say exactly, that the boy got the car out of the garage. We were assuming that you wouldn’t just leave a mini-mustang on your front lawn where someone could just pick it up. And we assumed that they wouldn’t put in it the garage and then leave the door open. So…a 3-year-old got up, woke up his 2-year-old “friend” (which we are also confused about), got the car keys, walked into the garage, opened the garage door, started the car, and drove out onto the street, over a bridge, and then stopped at a red light (though he stopped in the crosswalk). It would have been awesome driving by that traffic stop.

2) A school kid (looked like middle school, I don’t remember) had to have his spleen removed after playing a game in class called “The Quiet Game.” Basically all the kids were supposed to be quiet and whoever wasn’t got pelted with textbooks. The saddest part of this whole story? They were instructed to play this game by the substitute teacher. Another disturbing thing about this story: the student who hit the kid with the textbook that caused his injuries is being charged with a felony. Um hello? What about the “adult” that told the students to do it?

I don’t feel like organizing my thoughts into complete or paragraphs. So this is what has happened since last time:
Curtis says I’m supposed to tell you all that USF football knocked off the #5 team in the land.

Now back to my regularly scheduled update:

Curtis’ mom came to visit we hung out with her for a bit. We wandered around downtown for First Friday (most of the galleries and shops were open late). Curtis and his mom ended up having an impromptu karaoke session in one of the galleries. We went to real karaoke later and I watched the Red Sox game on giant TVs.

I bought the Holiday used from Netflix! Yay!

We saw Sweeney Todd on campus this week.

I got my Halloween costume…I’m going to be Wednesday Addams. I bought a black jumper, a white collared shirt (that is a plus size, so I’m going to cut the collar off and somehow attach it to a black shirt I already have), and black tights at Target. Then I got a black pigtailed wig with a red bat on the each pigtail from Party City. I have to admit, I look mighty cute. I just need to get some makeup now.
As far as class, it’s still going. I’ve had a take home midterm due this week and I took a midterm “quiz” today.

I’ve only got to watch one movie since the last time I updated.

Daria: The Movie: Is it Fall Yet? (1997) - Daria’s first full-length movie. It was great, I miss Daria. It also included two bonus episodes including the one where Daria royally messed up dyeing what’s her name’s hair.

movies, halloween, musicals, weird
