it weirds me out when people i don't know randomly hug me

all because of a get well card.

so back in greensboro...since 5 a.m. monday and I HATE RAIN. i'm really getting tired of rain. it's been raining since friday. in every single state we were in. we went into four states! and it was raining in every single one. and when we were driving there was scary torrential rain...and i really thought there was going to be a tornado when we were driving up through virginia. it was raining so hard and there was lightning everywhere and the pieces of trees were starting to blow all over the place.

so back to last week. on thursday afternoon and all of friday i helped pack up the juvenile structured day program. youth focus has acquired the program from the county and so we are moving it to a new building. i was helping the director pack up everything so they movers could take care of things on saturday. she was making fun of me because i said i liked doing this kind of thing. it reminded me of americorps probably partly because i work my amerishorts on friday. so we got done around 3:30pm on friday and i could have gone back to the office but i wasn't really dressed for it even by casual friday standards.

so we left here around 5:30 or so and drove for a while. through the scary rain for a bit. we stopped at the cracker barrel for dinner where we had what we think was a new waitress. not that she was bad...she just asked a lot of questions, hehe. then we drove the rest of the way to the ramada. i fell asleep and we were in west virginia...i woke up and we were there. i slept through maryland.

we got up the next morning and had lunch at the arby's, which once we started driving we realized we could have walked there. so then we drove around in circles in downtown chambersburg for a while just to see the place. there was a pretty circle square/circle in the middle of the town. then we drove out of town and we were going towards gettysburg so i turned on some random road so we could turn around. this road led to the police station, the jail, and a fish hatchery. so we stopped for a bit and fed the fish and the ducks. so then curtis had to go to the rehearsal dinner so he met up with the boys and i drove around some more. i was going to go downtown and check out the heritage center and fort chambers. well the heritage center was closed and fort chambers was just one building and it was owned by a private company and had a huge sign on the door. so then i drove back to the hotel and cross-stitched and watched weird things on tv. we had the most random assortment of tv channels ever. first i watched extreme obstacle course challenge or something then cheerleading then dateline about a pledge who died at unc, chico, and then i dont really remember what else. i remember watching america's most wanted for a bit.

then curtis got back and we wandered down to the bar/lounge at the hotel for a bit. i left so that curtis could hang out with the boys.

the next morning we had to get up and leave the hotel at 11:00am. the wedding wasn't until 4:00pm so we were homeless for a bit. we went to denny's for breakfast and then visited the heritage center downtown. it's too bad it was raining because they had a quick self-guided walking tour. then we drove back to someone else's hotel and changed for the wedding.

the wedding was very cute and very quick. everything was black and white and green. and they stole the song i wanted! Javier - In Your Hands. (sidenote...i told curtis this at the beginning of the reception and he said that we could still use this boyz ii men song...but then they used that for their first dance, hehe). then to a theater downtown for the reception. the dj was, well for lack of a better word, wack. he cleared the dancefloor a few times because of the songs he chose. and the food was a bit boring. but the appetizers and the cake were awesome. and for the ymca the dj brought out construction hats.

so by the time it was all over with and we sent off the newlyweds (with sparklers), and we took people back to the hotel and changed it was 11:45pm. and of course i had to work the next morning. i hadnt decided what time i was going in but i knew i was going in late. so i drove until around 2am and then curtis drove while i slept in the backseat. we got home around 5am and i called and said i would go in at 11. but i forgot it was timesheet day and so they had to call me around 9:15 so hannah could fill out a timesheet for me, hehe.

and now we're back to the present. phineas III (aka tre) died. so we decided we're not getting a red fish and we're not naming it phineas. maybe the curse will die with the name. we went browsing around for a new fish yesterday but none really caught our eye. we want to get a new one soon because skye just stares into the empty part of the tank and i think he's depressed.

we have some busy days coming up with stuff planned. fri or sat (or next weekend if they are sold out, only 50 seats per show) we're seeing a play called "morticians in love," sunday there's free tours of the blandwood mansion and...revolutionary war reenactors (imagine that!), monday i dont think anything is going on...tuesday there's a parade and then the circus and then fireworks, friday we're going to see anna nalick in winston-salem.

P.S. I HATE MY COMPUTER. ALL I WANT TO DO IS UPDATE MY LIVEJOURNAL. WHY CAN'T YOU HANDLE THAT!!!

i'll probably never get around to posting my pictures because my computer wont stay on long enough for me to do anything. and then i get pissed at it and dont feel like dealing with it anyway.

wedding, fish, triad stage, youth focus, beta fish, plays, greensboro
