okay in case you havent noticed...i now am totally obsessed with crossing jordan. even to the point that i have curtis tape re-runs if i have to work third shift. but if it makes it any better, they are ones i haven't seen yet!
and the 1,000th person to be executed since 1976 was lethally injected at 2:15am this morning in raleigh, nc...just in case you didnt know.
so in case i havent said this yet...the RTC has been great lately.
side not....grr! sallie mae's phone menu is annoying...they never give you an option to speak to a customer service agent, even though it clearly says they will on the website. so a while ago i got a letter from American Managment Services (AMS) which is somehow related to my school loans (and Sallie Mae) but i'm not sure how. so this letter told me that if i sent them proof of graduation they would make a payment on my school loans (no matter who i had them with). so i sent it in and waited a while and so i called (AMS) to see if it had gone through. i talked to a very nice lady who was extremely helpful and said that the payment had been sent on a certain date and that she would call sallie mae and talk to them about it and then call me back. she called back and said that sallie mae had received the payment and it was going to be posted in a few days (this was at the end of october). so here we are at the beginning of december and there's no sign of this payment online. so i call sallie mae to check and they tell me that they can't look it up unless they know the exact date, the exact amount, or the name of the bank. so now i'm on hold waiting for someone to answer at AMS. when i talked to the woman at sallie mae i mentioned that the payment was from AMS but maybe she doesn't know they are related. so i go to the AMS website and the contact information for sallie mae is clearly there... and not only is it there separately but it's like this: Academic Management Services / Sallie Mae Corporation. so that's weird. oh and on a good note...i'm ahead on repaying my loan (mostly because of the $440 payment for interest from americorps) and my next payment isnt due until february. if this other payment would just post (i think it's for roughly the same amount) then i'd be even more ahead.
random: when curtis' parents were down and we went to IHOP for breakfast there was a seriously freakishly tall waiter there.
so i was working third shift the other day and one of the male staff was telling me about how he's obsessed with christmas and christmas music and everything. he was tyring to get the radio station that was playing all christmas music to come in on his cellphone. so an hour or two later and he turns to me:
kelvin: have you heard a christmas song with rainbows in it?
me: let me hear it (i listen)...oh, it's gloria estefan...(listen some more)...she just said christmas!
he takes it back and listens for like 2 minutes
kelvin: i'm tired of christmas already
me: did gloria estefan ruin christmas?
kelvin: yes, i think she did.
hehe....apparently i ruined christmas twice while working the 5am shift at party city a while ago because i dropped two boxes of shipment.
and now for a christmas song that i doubt you have heard of...
Percy, the puny poinsettia
Hanging his bloom in dismay
If they had just kept him wetter
He'd be a house plant today
Folks like the other plants better
Now he's alone on the shelf
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn't spend Christmas Day by himself
Holiday shoppers would stop at the counter and pick out a plant to take home
One at a time all his friends were adopted till Percy was left all alone
Chorus
Then into the shop on the day before Christmas came a poor little girl who was crying
But when she saw Percy her eyes opened wide and she said, "Can I please make him mine?"
Now Percy, the puny poinsettia
Is standing beside Mr. Tree
His leaves have never been redder
He's as proud as a flower can be
Somebody made him feel better
Rescued him off of the shelf
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn't spend Christmas Day by himself
Even a plant with no uncle or aunt
Shouldn't spend Christmas Day by himself
