americorps again?
got my car fixed today...it's been a while since i paid a bunch of money for any kind of work (over a year actually) so it was due. and now it sounds/runs much better. i got a tune-up, a transmission flush, and a fuel system cleaning. so the day consisted of curtis and i getting up early so i could drop off my car. then we went to biscuitville (every time i see that restaurant i think of the Omletville sketch that justin timberlake did on SNL, on another note when i went to google and tried to find the clip it kept asking me if i meant to be searching for "mulletville"). anyway...that restaurant really wasn't anything special. then we went to walmart and then to the library downtown (but first we had to stop back at the apartment because i didnt have my library card and i didnt know how to get there). i got a few books, psychology related of course. then we drove around and stopped various places trying to waste time until my car was finished.
soo....having a bit of trouble finding a job. though i admit i'm sure that i could be doing more to actually find one. but the thing is that i dont want to have to settle for another retail job because i know that i can get something better than that. but dont get me wrong...if i have to get a retail job while i keep looking for something better that's totally understandable...i'm not going to hate it...and i'll do my best.
so anyway. tomorrow i'm calling party city (the one nearest here is not) to see if they are still hiring for halloween business...minimum wage i'm sure but i'm running low on funds (well not totally but i have a lot of bills and my dad hasn't sent me my new provident charge card. and i have an application for michael's but they aren't hiring for seasonal christmas for three weeks. so i'm waiting for someone to call me back from villa maria so i can have the correct information for her on my resume. i'm going to call her again on monday and see what happens. then i'm planning on sending my resume to the one center that's farther away and then visiting the other one and applying in person.

so we'll see...i have a few days to work with here. and i can always apply and then not do it. if i'm full time i get medical benefits. and i'm guessing that it's not going to be like americorps *nccc and that i can get a part time job otherwise if i need to. i also get more of a living allowance ($12,000) and since curtis is taking care of the bills right now that helps out a lot. and i could certainly use another $4725 dollars for my loan. combined with the other money that would knock my loan in half and i would be making payments while in this program as well.
so yea any comments on the matter are greatly appreciated. i mean i can always apply and change my mind later if something else comes along.
