so today we had some discussion thing called critical issues. basically they wanted us to talk about the larger social issues that we might face during americorps, or anytime really. so we talked about urban renewal and the healthy forest initiative. now this might sound really cheesy but it really helped to refocus me back into americorps and the team and the service and all that stuff. i had been thinking about going home, well not home, to florida really, and then erica left this morning and that made me think that maybe i should leave. but...it's not really about me...well it is, but you know. i'm here to help others and to do service and the discussion on urban renewal got me talking about habitat. and that made me remember how much i really love doing this stuff and that that's why i joined this program in the first place. and even though i really want to move in with curtis now...barring any horrible circumstances, he'll be around when this is done and then i'll get to be with him. and i would probably regret it if i quit now. and we should have an education project and a human needs project for the last two which would be even better...i think it's this weed pulling that's getting to me.
:-)
oh and i'm having an issue with a needlepoint kit that i bought a few years ago and just now go around to making. i seem to be running out of thread so i called the company and asked about it. and the lady called me back this morning and said that there was a typo in that it says to use 3 strands when you are really sposed to use 2. so she said she'd be happy to send me more thread so i could complete it. that's great. so i sent her my mailing address and hopefully that will get to me soon.
