I am so ridiculously tired. The training this weekend was good, and actually made me feel positive about the whole examiner thing, even the travel aspects, but I really hate losing my two days to sleep in. Being up and out of the house by eight both mornings was not fun, especially followed up by a bunch of 8 AM starts for school. If I remember correctly, my high school started at 7 AM, so I guess it could be worse. Also, my high school was a ridiculous joke, with total weenies for teachers, so that, too, could be worse. Being a high school teacher now is very eye opening, in that it's shown me what a bunch of hacks all my teachers were. Thankfully, my students are too blinded by the shine of authority to ever make that same realization about me.
Had the last doctor's appointment today and all is well. I have four days of oral antibiotics, which are milder than the IV stuff, and then all should be fine. So I guess I'm living on to see another day... yay? I am a little obsessed with the hospital, I have to say. They are so clever here! When I had to get my blood drawn today, I was actually gushing to the nurse about what a clever system they use. When you go down to the lab, it looks sort of like a bank counter, with teller windows. You go up to the window, stick your hand in, and the nurse jabs your finger. Then she uses capillary tubes to draw up enough blood for a decent sized vial, sticks it in a machine and prints out your results. Painless, no need for bandages and the whole thing only takes about five minutes! All for $2. I really love China sometimes.
The only crap part of all this is that my birth control doesn't work with antibiotics, so we'll have to figure something else out for a week or two. Jason is none too pleased with this development. I think he would be far less pleased with a baby (not to mention pregnant wife), so he will have to find the inner strength to cope with this somehow.
Back to my Chinese homework/focalization paper. We really do live the crazy lives over here.
