Well..... Elliot's CD is finished :) And, he made me sing on it. I made him a music myspace a while back, and of the 6 songs we've put on it, one is the one I'm singing on ("I Can't Wait For Never"). The song is kind of like a song for a musical... it's about the mindset of a woman whose marriage is crumbling so drastically that she's thinking that the murder of her husband is her only way out. That sounds like an odd premise for a song, until you know that it's based on the murder of singer Walter Scott a few years back (in St. Charles County somewhere), arranged and "accomplished" by Walter Scott's wife and her lover.... the lover's wife was also killed in a car "accident". Walter Scott was the singer in Bob Kuban's band, when, back in the '60s, they had a top 10 hit with the song "The Cheater" (ironic, eh?). The member of the band who wrote the song mentioned to Elliot a summer or so ago that he might write a screenplay about the events, so this is a song that Elliot has written to go with that... if it ever happens.
Also, Elliot is going to be interviewed on Smash's show on 103.3 KLOU sometime next week (that's the M-F 6-9 a.m. slot). Smash is going to play snippets of three of the songs, I think, and one of those will be the one I sing. Elliot will also play a trumpet solo along with one of his instrumentals, Bowl of Funk (I love that one).
