One thing I hate about when I have a long span between substantive posts is the fact that I feel the need to provide an update on everything that's happened since I last posted an entry. Which would be fairly long considering I haven't really posted since I have come home from Tanzania. This, in turn, makes me reluctant to post because I don't have time for all of that. So, I'm going to provide a bullet-point list of things that happened to me since then, and then a short update on what I'm up to now.
+I came back from Tanzania and got horribly ill for about two weeks. Basically? I ate pure, un-processed food for about a month. As soon as I tried to eat that microwaved salt-fest known as airplane food, my digestive system pulled one of these:
and that was that.
+In the midst of all this illness,
*Serena came to visit (yaaay)
*I cut my hair (yaaay)
+More on the hair cutting - so the day after I got home, I woke up at 3am (jet-lag is a bitch) and undid all of my braids. That afternoon, my hair was gone.

+I'm officially back in Pittsburgh after missing nearly all of RA Training. This school year is off to a lighting-fast start (I can't believe I've been here for a month already!). I'm taking:
-Astronomy: Stars, Galaxies and Cosmos
-Political Science Research Methods
-Developmental Economics
-Government and Politics of the Middle East
-Intermediate Macroeconomics
-Total Body Fusion
The classes seem pretty solid, although I'm not a huge fan of Gov't and Politics of the Middle East being from 6:00-8:30. I also have my weekly 7:00am Blue and Gold meetings, but they've been pretty doable so far. Let's see if I'm still saying that when it starts to snow.
I also had an Astronomy exam today. I don't think it was so bad, but there were some questions that I was a bit confused about. We'll see.
+Ian came to visit! I took him to a Pitt game and they won, against New Hampshire. Too bad Miami crushed them last night. (Hey, I sold my ticket to that game so I can't be too mad) I'm also going home in two weeks. Exciting!
+I go on retreat this weekend, for the study abroad scholarship I received last year. I really can't wait to see all of the girls from my cohort and hear about their amazing trips. I get along with all of them and they're all really nice people, so yay :)
+I also haven't packed for said retreat, and it's in three hours. Boo. :(
Aside from that, my life hasn't been super eventful. I'm going to see
Esperanza Spalding in concert this week, so I'm really excited.
More updates later, I promise.
