Freedom of Flow

Things have calmed down a little bit where family is concerned. For now. Family relations are always a bit hectic during the holidays. My mother apologized and we're both compromising to try and get along.

At my apartment however, things are just heating up. I think I'm a magnet for drama. I've given up trying to change that.
My landlords own quite a few apartments that they've built onto their own house. They also bought an abandoned house next to their own, demolished it and rebuilt it on top of the existing foundation. Unfortunately, they did not think to replace the very old septic tank.
For one thing, the septic tank was used to being used for only one family. When they turned the refurbished house into apartments, it was being used for two families.
Another thing is that the septic tank sat for many years, unused and probably rusting.
Last of all is that my neighbor seems to think that it's okay to flush tampons down her toilet. Considering that we share a sewer line that goes straight to our septic tank, it ends up backing up into my bathroom and making my toilet and all drains in my house completely unusable.
This is not the first time this has happened. When I first started renting the apartment, my landlord's sons had to snake the septic tank to clear the clog.
I have just found out that she told them then that she wasn't the one flushing the tampons because she was pregnant. I am not getting into the drama of the craziness of my neighbor in this entry. All I can say is there's no baby and no bump. I had to have a most embarrassing talk with my landlord the other day to explain how it's nearly physically impossible for me to wear tampons because I was a virgin until last year. They'd have to get an ER doctor to pull the damned thing out with a pair of pliers. Seriously ouchie.
Anywhoo.. They are finally calling plumbers who are finally coming this Monday to replace the septic tank so I can actually use my toilet and other drains in my house again. Oh sweet freedom of flow.
And that is the recent soap operaness that is my life. Stay tuned when, next week..
