Why,in fact there is!

Fortunately, contrary to what you might think, Georgia actually has very good state science standards. At least for elementary school.

Yes, but I would hate to see Science: Kansas Edition. Or any state with the please-consider-Intelligent-Design stickers on the covers of their science books.

Miss B's correspondence school biology book has a warning label letting you know that evolution is discussed inside but that those opposed to studying evolution can do the chapter on ecology instead.

So they only do ecology if they don't do evolution? That's... problematic.

Ecology is covered in the book as well in other sections, but, when I looked it over the "ecology" chapter really talks about systems and how they affect one another and cause one another to survive or die out. Sort of... evolution without all that pesky science. :p

My kid is a full on dork, so she, of course, did both chapters and then came and talked to me about what she thought about the comparison between the two.
