To Do List for 2010

Jan 01, 2010 17:05

Well it's a new year and to celebrate I've watched the newest version of Sense and Sensibility.  I thought it was absolutely marvelous!  Which made me want to rewatch and do a review.  But I shall review or do a recap in a few months once I watch it again.

It also got me thinking of other things I'd like to get done.  So I now have a to do list for 2010:

Spooks

I have every intention of completing my recaps of series 7 - I have three to go.  It's just a matter of finding the right time to do so.  And after that will come series 8 (should the ABC be kind enough to show it this year).

Hamlet

I just watched Hamlet the other day - the new RSC version with David Tennant - and I feel that I just don't understand it enough.  And I would like to understand it better.  So I intend to study it this year.  I'm not yet sure what form that study is going to take though.  I have a bit of a Hamlet introduction or guide book, but I'm going to try and find some list of questions or topics that I can discuss.  Whether that 'discussion' ever ends up in this journal remains to be seen.

Jane Austen

Well first of all, I am going to rewatch Sense and Sensibility and do some kind of review.  Considering how my first watching of it went today, the review may be somewhat gushing.  (Colonel Brandon was very dashing and manly.)

As for reading the actual novels, I would like to take part in Pemberley's group read this year.  Which means Pride and Prejudice in the first half of the year, and Mansfield Park in the second.  And I very much like both of those books, so hopefully I will have the time to get involved in that.

Doctor Who

I have a 2010 Doctor Who calendar!  And it's a series 4 specific calendar, with an episode for each month (with episodes 4 and 5 combined into April).  So I think it would be a great idea for me to rewatch an episode each month in line with my calendar and do a review of each of them as I go.  Fingers crossed I can stick to my schedule!  (And I might just finish reading "The Writers' Tale" as well.)

Then there will be series 5 with the eleventh doctor!  I've no intention of reviewing that as of yet, but I do have every intention of watching it!

Robin Hood

Last but by no means least, I need to watch series 3 of Robin Hood!  I've downloaded most of it but have not gotten around to watching it.  (Again, who knows when the ABC will deign to broadcast it!)  I must watch it, if only for RA!  And I've also got a bunch of little ficlets running around in my head which just haven't made it onto paper.  Hopefully I'll be able to actually write one of those this year.

Well, that is my list.  To be completely honest I've no idea whether I'll get around to all of this, but you never know...

to do
