The Sex Pistols are, by far, the most over-rated band in history. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate all they did for punk rock, but they were garbage. The Backstreet Boys of punk rock, completely formed by a label as a marketing gimmick that somehow worked out. The Ramones are by far more superior in influence and quality.
