So the big game and the big party are over. Thanks for everyone who came by; hope y'all had fun. Here are my predictions and how things turned out.
Super Bowl Predictions:
1. Steelers win by two touchdowns (okay, the Steelers won, that's enough)
2. We run out of jambalaya before the second half (yeah, I got this one too, easy)
3. Seahawks win the coin toss (and they did, chalk up another)
4. Budweiser has at least one awesome commercial (I think it's safe to say Budweiser had about five good commercials)
5. The Rolling Stones perform decently at the half (Mick Jagger's boob didn't pop out; that's good enough for me)
6. Ben Rothlisberger gets MVP (so I was wrong, it went to Hinds Ward, who deserved it)
7. Steve Nix gets our MVP (Most Valuable Partier) (considering he's asleep on the couch and has marker on his face, I think he definitely gets the MVP)
8. We run out of at least one type of alcohol (but not beer) (we didn't run out of as much for various reasons, which is probably good, but the vodka did pretty much disappear)
Yeah, 7 out of 8 ain't bad. How 'bout that commercial with the sheep streaker? That was funny. I'll post some pictures tomorrow or Tuesday.
You ever have something to say and you either can't figure out how to say it or you know you can't/shouldn't say it? I have that feeling right now; I'm not sure why.
I like parties like this because it satisfies a lot of things. Some parties are just all out drink and be merry. Those can be fun with or without the liquor. Some parties are dull and involve nothing but eating and watching some dumb movie. Those can be good when the time is right too. But tonight was the all-around good time: you can eat, drink, not drink, not eat, stay the whole time, leave halfway through, hold a conversation with someone or watch the ballgame. Any combination of the above would work at that style of party.
Maybe all that above is just bull too. Maybe I just like when people are around and I can sit back and watch the movements, the talking, the actions. I can mingle, or I can set back a bit and observe. I don't know. One thing parties shouldn't be is philosophical, so I'll stop. I had a good time. We should do this again sometime. Besides, I have a craving for singing some songs and dancing to whatever my jukebox of an iPod spits out. Now THAT is fun.
How are we going to get all that newspaper out...?
I guess I better wake Steve and put him in his newspaper bed. I swear, if he wakes up tomorrow with classified ads all over his face...
I rest my case.
