No, Alanis, black flies are disgusting, not ironic.

My sister suggested that I try a chardonnay, and every time I think of that kind of wine, the Alanis Morisette song comes up in my mind. Why yes, I did come of age in the 90s, why do you ask?

Anyway, she said that she'd never met a chardonnay she didn't like, so I picked one up from Australia: Yellow Tail.

Now there's something I need to know before I am able to really proceed with this project: Is "sour" a taste that I should pretty much expect from all wines, being what they are? Because that's been a dominant taste so far, and I want to know if I'm being over-sensitive. My first reaction when I take a sip is to make that "sour" face that we all remember from back in elementary school when we dared each other to eat Sour Patch Kids by the handful. So if that's something that I should pretty much expect from every wine I try, I figure I ought to add that in to my baseline.

Other than that, I suppose it's okay. I don't know what reaction it would get from people who know this stuff, but I figure it couldn't go too wrong. I got a red from the same winery - a cabernet sauvignon, which is a name I recognize just from the osmotic process of knowing Wine People. So that one's on deck.
