We took the little guy to the vet today to have him checked out. No chip, which isn't surprising, since those things are HUGE and this cat is tiny - 1.5 kg, maybe 3 months old. The vet took blood and will have some test results on Monday. The little guy has a cold, though, which requires eye/nose drops. Not quite as exciting as pilling, but neither of us enjoys it very much.
From there, went to the pet store to get basic supplies - food, a litter box (littler box technology has advanced remarkably in the last decade, I must say), toys and so on. He's now home, trying to ignore The Dog, who, in true Pug fashion, is trying to show his affection by following the cat everywhere it goes. The Dog never really got practice socializing with other animals when he was younger, so he's not sure how to do it. This means he's like the big awkward guy in the house who walks right up to you and says, "HI! I'M MILO," not quite sure where personal boundaries are. The cat, for his part, is being patient and trying to pretend the dog doesn't exist, which just seems to annoy the dog. I think they'll come around eventually....
In the meantime, he's very cute, and very catlike - I woke up at one point last night to find him sleeping on my chest.
