I read John Scalzi's Law of Internet Invocation piece from several years ago, which he recently referred to in his blog. Basically saying that if you name a community or a blog after someone famous, don't be surprised if that famous person shows up and doesn't quite see eye-to-eye with you.

So all I could think about was this:

Makes a Great Pentagram on the floor with sea salt and lights candles

I summon you, JOHN SCALZI!

sets a plate of bacon in the center of the pentagram

I summon you, JOHN SCALZI!

Sets the bacon on fire

I SUMMON YOU, JOHN SCALZI!!!

Waits for the inevitable visitation

EDIT: With the - admittedly surprising - success of the Scalzi Summoning, I wonder whom I should summon next. Maybe Wil Wheaton. Hmmm... What could I sacrifice to get him?
