Damn government....

The Senate decided that the poor, poor telecom industry should be forgiven for caving to the big, bad Bush administration and releasing customer records. I can at least be proud that one of my Senators voted Nay on the bill (Dodd, of course), and very annoyed that Obama voted Yea. I mean, c'mon - the bill was almost impossible to defeat anyway. Would it have been so hard for the Candidate of Change to make a symbolic gesture and NOT vote for giving Bush whatever he wants?

*sigh*

In other news, remember Katrina? Yeah, remember how the refugees from that storm were given trailers that had so much formaldehyde in them that people got sick? Well, the GOP has - of course - done its own study, and has announced that the people who made the trailers, the people who decided how much CHEMICAL POISON to put in the trailers in the first place, are not to blame. Instead it's the Big, Bad Government who should have told them, "Hey, man, you really shouldn't be poisoning people like that." Poor, naive trailer-making companies are obviously run by Tom Cullen. "Well gosh, Mister Government, I didn't know I wasn't supposed to add all this poison to everything. Somebody should've told Tom, that's right, because Tom ain't so smart. M-O-O-N, that spells Tom Cullen."

So, does anybody else remember when there was.... what's it called, oh hell, let me check my dictionary.... Ah yes - ACCOUNTABILITY?

Yeah, me neither.
