Emptying the mental recycling bin
NHK is showing a 20 minute mini-documentary on people who skip stones. Not just normal people, I mean people who spend the weekend looking for stones to skip, who have hundreds of them in canvas tote bags in their homes, who sit outside like Paleolithic hominids, chipping away at stones to get a more perfect shape. I appreciate that everyone has their own obsessions, and I would be the last person to begrudge someone's doing what made them happy, but does NHK seriously have nothing better to show us? Really?
The White House told everyone who doesn't plan on staying through to 2009 to get out by Labor Day. Thus Snow, Rove and Gonzales. What are the odds that Cheney will have a "health condition" in the next week or so? Not high, I reckon, but it would be a hell of a thing if he bailed, too.
When is DC going to explain what a bunch of pre-Zero Hour Legionnaires are doing still in existence? And when are they going to stop their murderous rampage?
