Not a good year for NOVA

Feb 16, 2007 20:07

First there was the problem with the teachers in Tokyo getting arrested for drugs, and now the company's being raided for evidence of unfair business practices. It seems that they use some tricky mathematics and blurry fine print in student contracts so that they don't "have to" give full refunds for unused lesson points if a student cancels their contract.

A major corporation chiseling money out of its customers? No, say it ain't so!

Anyway, this'll probably have no effect on me, though I imagine sales will slow down somewhat for a little while. And if the company should somehow pull an Enron over this, I just hope they do it after I get my visa renewed....

japan, nova
