ENCANTADOS!

ZOMG, I just watched Enchanted for the very, VERY first time. I can't believe how much love and adore and worship this movie!!! I didn't watch it when it first came out because I absolutely refused to watch it dubbed in spanish - I have nothing against animated movies being dubbed, I love both versions, but it's so darn weird for me to see live action features and hear them talking weird... They use so many words that aren't used in real life... Oh well. A little big quirk of mine.

ANYWAY. WOW. I mean... WOW. The animated bit???? Ten minutes wasn't enough!!! I wanted MOOOAR JAMES BAXTER!!!! ♥♥♥♥ The design is beautiful!!! I already knew it was all Art Nouveau because of the promo pics and the icons and the fanart and everything I had already seen, but it was just too much! Art Nouveau's been my favorite art movement since I first found out about it in class, and to actually see my two favorite types of art coming together - Animation + Art Nouveau??? Why on earth wasn't I born earlier so I could work in that movie, at the very least making coffee for Mr. Baxter??? Or for Mr. Baxter's assistant? ... or for Mr. Baxter's pencil sharpener???

Loved all of the little Disney moment allusions. The whole thing is just beautiful. And it certainly brings hope to those of us who love classical 2D animation: just like Dr. Frankenstein so rightly said, IT LIVES!!!!!!!

And now, for the characters. Giselle is just... PERFECT. So beautifully drawn, so beautifully performed, and Amy Adams has everything for a Disney princess, including the pointed nose. *squishes*. Her pinkies, up all the time! The way she moves, the way she talks... Coki - that's a friend of mine for the ones who doesn't know - said she didn't like the movie because she's more like me, but I'm nothing like her, she's a beautiful princess in all the meaning of the word. She moves, talks, acts, dances, sits and I bet even burps like a princess. There's no way this movie would be the same without Amy Adams playing Giselle. Period.

And there's no way Giselle would be Giselle without Mr. Baxter drawing her   Ok, ok: enough Baxter fangirlism.

...For now. XD

And EDWARD??? My gooosh, my inner child who's still in love with Phillip was just frantically giggling the moment he appeared on screen, and the teenager jumped up and down when Jimmy Marsden came in... Gosh, I don't know how he looks better, with tights and sword or tights and "optic blast" glasses. He had me cracking up. Amd he's so freakishly adorable. My mom actually looked at me and said "do you really want him this... dumb?" XD

Beautiful movie. It's just full of talent, Alan Menken, Steven Schwartz, James Baxter ^_^ ♥ , everybody that I love - they only missed Glen Keane and Andreas Deja to have the perfect animation cast, just as in Beauty and the Beast...

I'm running out of adjectives now...

ANYWAY. It's so freaking gorgeous I'm unbelievably excited. And I want more than ever to be able to do THAT. Whatever, moping the floor if you will but be involved in THAT.

And it's back. Disney's back. ;)
Now, back to our regular show. I need to color and I'm having a little "disagreement" with Photoshop. But all shall work and be pardoned and we shall be friends again.

Photoshop and I, that is.
