Righto (contains SPOILERS)

I didn't get a chance to play online last night, so you'll have to excuse the lateness of this post. I wrote this yesterday, but then forgot to send it to myself at home and I spent last night helping my husband download his e-tax form, so forgive me if I’m behind the times.

Okay.

Even though SWC has been at all the media events and doing interviews and we’ve seen photos and videos of her filming on set, seeing this first official promo shot literally made my heart go pitter-pat. Maybe it’s because she was missing from the Season Three promo shots (and we all know that was the beginning of the end) or perhaps it’s because I still CANNOT BELIEVE WE HAVE HER BACK.

*coughs*

Yes, okay, I’m lame.

Firstly, I just have to say that I think smirky_turkey needs to head over to LA to teach someone how to make manips in Photoshop, because man, they badly need some lessons. The idea of photoshop is to make the people actually look as though they're in the location you've put them. Plus? They photoshopped out Wentworth's temple mole, and that’s pretty much unforgivable in my book.

All those quibbles aside, the big question is, I guess, is who’s missing?

The answer is, of course, Whistler and Sofia.

Anyone who’s been reading the spoilers coming out will know that Chris Vance has already started filming on another series, a series in which he plays the lead character. Combine this with Wentworth’s comment during an interview at the recent Upfronts that they’ll be losing ‘one or two people earlier than the viewers may have expected’, and I’m guessing that’s Whistler gone in the first (or perhaps second) episode.

Which is all kinds of ironic, considering Whistler was the reason Michael had to be thrown into Sona in the first place, don’t you think?

Lalalalaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Anyway.

No Sofia is also rather telling, considering she was front and centre in the Season Three promo shots and a huge (well, on paper anyway) part of the storyline. One of the spoilers from the_man said that Sofia’s role in Season Four would be similar to that of LJ’s during Season Three, so I guess that means we won’t be seeing Sofia very much at all, especially if Whistler’s dead/gone/missing. No offence to Danay Garcia, but I can’t say I’ll miss her. To this day, I could not tell you a single line of dialogue that came out of her mouth during the whole of Season Three. She’s incredibly pretty and her character was very sweet and I should have cared about her a lot more than I did but even now, re-watching Season Three secure in the knowledge that Sara Tancredi isn’t dead, I don’t care. At all. Poor Sofia. Poor Danay.

No sign of LJ either, of course, but I didn’t class him as missing because he wasn’t in the group promo shot for Seasons Two or Season Three either. It would have been nice to see him in this one, though, seeing as Michael and Lincoln spent all of Season Three trying to keep him alive. I guess this is might be TPTB’s way of telling us not to expect to see him all that often? Which is only to expected, because as Lincoln’s teenaged son, his presence on screen depends on whether he’s in mortal danger or tucked away safe and sound. Either Lincoln drags his sixteen year old son around with him while they put their lives in danger on a daily basis trying to take down the Company, he gets kidnapped again or Lincoln sends him away again to keep him safe, because we all know how well that worked out last time, don’t we? I suspect we’re going to see Lincoln taking his son out of the equation (how, exactly, I don’t know) while he and Michael and the others do the dirty work to clear their names etc. Tough decision for a parent to make, but he’s going to have to think of the bigger picture, I guess. I really want to see some “LJ + everyone he cares about” bonding time, but I guess we’ll have to be content to take quality over quantity.

You know, I adore Sucre, but it’s not often that I look at him and start making those little inaudible mewing sounds. Er, yes. He’s looking well, isn’t he? On a less shallow note, I’m so very glad he’ll be out of Sona sooner rather than later and reunited with his BFF Michael and that he’ll be able to check up on his girl and his impending bambino.

Mahone looks quite slender next to Sucre, and I know that’s not really the case, because I’ve seen recent shots of WF looking very buff indeed. (Still harping on the bad Photoshopping, I really dislike it when they photoshop these shots instead of taking a real group shot. I like it when everyone’s in the right proportion, lol!) Mahone is standing on the side of ‘good and maybe good’ in the frame, on the opposite site to the Company baddies and T-bag, giving a big “he’s on Team Burrows and Scofield now” vibe. Of course, this is Prison Break and red herrings and double-crosses are a huge part of any storyline. Random note: If they’re on the same side (at least for a while) wouldn’t it be nice if he and Sara could have a chat about detoxing? *g*

Bellick is standing with the new guys, and I was happy to see him, because as conflicted as I am about the character, Wade makes me cry when he cries, and I would be quite upset to see him die. Oh, and no more tiger pants.

Michael Rappaport is Don, the new FBI guy, and look at him there in his nice suit! Awwwww. He’s got a great flair for comic timing as well as drama, and I’m really hoping he might lend an air of Kellerman-style snark to the proceedings. Although no one will ever replace the K-man in my heart!

I know absolutely nothing about our cute little Justin Long guy (sorry, private joke) about from the fact that he’s a hacker who helps them out. I do like his shoes, though.

And so the bad guys, and yeah, that’s some sharply-dressed villainy right there. I know the new Company man is called Wyatt, and we saw him grabbing a dark-haired woman from her home in the last promo. He doesn’t scare me as much as Brinker did, but I’m willing to give him a chance. *g*

Oh, and there’s Gretchen, with a slick new hairdo and a fabulous new outfit and she still doesn’t know how to button her shirt. Too much time spent with Lincoln in Season Three, obviously. Seriously, though, I have grown to appreciate her over-the-top “I’m a badass with perfect hair and lipstick” vibe, much like I used to develop girl!crushes on beautiful but snarky drag queens during my youth. JLOK’s acting leaves something to be desired, IMHO, but she manages to make me laugh with her cartoon character villainess. Of course, it’s easier to tolerate her now that Sara’s head is still attached to her shoulders in canon and not just in fanfiction. So, I’m shallow. Sue me. *g*

Oh, Robert Knepper. You old smoothie, you. That moustache should be all kinds of wrong and it is, and yet it’s just a perfect thing for T-bag to do. I wonder if that was RK’s idea? Perhaps he grew a Writers’ Strike beard like so many other actors and decided to take advantage of a luxurious moustache? Oh, and that suit. Another thing that should look wrong but doesn’t.

Right. *eyes three people in the middle of the frame*

Oh, look. They're all wearing the same colour jeans. LOL.

Dom’s tattoos are front and center, which means they won’t be covering them up. Does this mean they’ll be explaining them? Because, according to Lincoln’s Season Two promo shot, he doesn’t have those tattoos. Will it be addressed? Will it just never be mentioned? Can Lincoln’s biceps get any bigger? Gosh, he’s not my cup of tea but wow, colour me impressed. His arse appears to be missing though, which is a worry. I do like the t-shirt they’ve put him in, but what does this mean for our favourite unbuttoned man? What will he leave unbuttoned now? *thinks about zippers vs button flies* Heh.

Michael is blue-steeling as usual but looking much less miserable than in his Season Three promo pics, and honestly, who can blame him? He is wearing his brown jacket, which pleases me greatly. I know there are many people on my flist who would like to burn that jacket, but I love the tailoring of it. I love the fact that Michael would have picked it up cheap in a second-hand store while on the run and yet it looks like something he might have worn in his old life. Just like his Season Two suit, in fact. I’ve always like the idea that he goes for the suits and the ties and the coats to make him feel like himself as much as he can. Also? He’s still wearing his shoes from Sona. I love that, too.

I left my girl until last, because as I said at the start, I still can’t believe I’m looking at her in a new promo shot. I am utterly not surprised by the fact she looks fabulous and if I didn’t love her so much, I might hate her for her ability to be slender and curvy at the same time. Not sure if I love the hair, I have to say, because she has the most amazing hair that can sometimes look a bit lopsided if left to its own devices, and that’s what’s happened here. Still beautiful, though. Love the shirt, love the jeans, love that she’s standing with Michael and Lincoln in a pretty darned obvious show of unity and oh my, there goes that pitter-pat of the heart again. She’s there beside Michael, looking as though she’s beyond ready to ‘get the people who took her dad’ and if that isn’t grounds for a formerly heartbroken Sara fan to rejoice, I don’t know what is. *waves tiny Sara-shaped flag* On a sensible note, I do hope those heels are just for show because it’s very hard on the knees and ankles to be running for your life in heels. *nods*

And then there are the SWC and WM interviews with Kristin

Classy doesn't even come close to describing these two people. On a more shallow note, the phrase 'hanging out' has now taken on a whole new meaning.

But wait, there's more! SWC with Ausiello. "Remember me?" "Yes, you're the one who told everyone I was pregnant!" LOL.

And then there's the latest promo, with snappy music and a snappier montage of everyone doing what they doing and oh my goodness, there's Sara with the boys, getting out of what looks like the cargo hold of a plane. I love that we've seen all these promos and still really don't have any clue as to WTF is going to happen. *g*

Oh, and I like that we still haven't seen the moment Michael and Sara lay eyes on each other for the first time. I'm the first one to admit I'm a spoiler junkie, but that's one thing I don't want to see out of context.

I actually really hope I don't get to work tomorrow to another day of finding my inbox full of emails filled with words like OMG and many links to shiny things. I don't think my little fangirl heart can take it, lol!

So, in closing, I can has September now?
