I look at her, wondering what she’d say if I told her I only need them to last until my imprisoned brother and I step onto a yacht in Panama. “Right.”

“I’ll just have to use my finely honed instincts instead.”

She tilts her head to one side, merriment dancing in her dark eyes. “Is that wise?”

Her lips are cold against mine when I bend my head to kiss her, but her breath is warm against my lips. “It worked with you,” I whisper when it’s over, and she smiles, her hand still splayed over the tattoos that are no longer a desperate plan but merely ink beneath my skin.

“It certainly did.”

Oh, you! I really wanted to start this fic off with Sid, and when you posted your fabulous story, I went "oudofausdpofhasdfhasdf" but then I realised they were quite different and stopped going "oudouasodfuaopsdfasdhf". I'm pleased you enjoyed mine, because I adored yours. *g*

Yay! Dublin! I walked back and forth across the Liffey a dozen times last summer (it was just as cold then, lol).

I loved how this explored Veronica's confusion, which really must have been so frustrating, and Lincoln's acceptance. That state of mind was really almost another obstacle for Michael.

My favorite line:

To my brother, they were a promise I almost couldn’t keep.

And Sara. I love that you touched on the fact that the tat has always been part of her impression of Michael. I wonder if she ever wishes she could see him before...know the slightly altered aspects of his personality before they were altered forever. And the "instincts" line was great. I really don't think I'll ever tire of glimpsing Michael/Sara post-conspiracy. Ever. Sigh.

OK, now I have to eat my own words about not getting into fanfic anymore. LOL

The Sid/Tattoo scene still gives me chills down my spine every time I see it. It looked so beautiful and promising and pulled me right into the story.

I shrug into my white shirt, wishing I’d thought to wear a darker colour today, thinking of the inevitable flecks of blood and ink

I love the contrast between Michael's very expensive clean white shirt and the brutality of the tattoo. I still find that scene very......you know.

This also made me realise how I miss Vee. Although she was stupid sometimes and I didn't like her scenes with Linc, I always though she had great (sibling) chemistry with Michael.
