There's an old saying that goes "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." With that in mind, I want to say something about #303, Call Waiting.
Sarah Wayne Callies may not have been in this episode, but Sara Tancredi was, and quite frankly, it was one of the most Michael/Sara heavy episodes yet. Wentworth Miller is a bloody star, and he made me believe that was Sara at the other end of the line. Dear me, when he was begging her to help him understand, I think my bottom lip may have wobbled.
The body double was a pretty good match (in my head, I'm going with the 'they've drugged her, that's why she's not moving and her speech is a little fuzzy. What? Shut up.) and some of those lines were pure SWC. The "I think you just need more time?" actually gave me shivers.
So, yeah. It's not how I wanted to see it, but TPTB made the best of a tricky situation, and damn it, so can I. That's until they kill her off beyond all reasonable doubt and I bid farewell to my OTP and trundle back to finish my WIPs in other fandoms.
As for the box, well, I'm torn. TPTB are notorious for their fake-outs, and it's obvious that we're meant to think that it's either Sara or LJ's head. My husband thinks it's Veronica's head (we call her Poochie in my house, long story), and I'm happy to believe for the next week that it's some part of the extremely convenient 'looks just like Sara' body in the morgue. Or maybe it's just Sara's other shoe?
I have more thoughts, but they'll have to wait until my brain stops going "Ack!" and "Gah!" at the memory of Michael having a silent and almost violent mini-brain snap while clutching Sara's picture.
*sighs*
It's going to be a long week, yes?
