(no subject)
We are having Japanese for dinner again tonight. To be more precise, I am MAKING the Japanese we are having for dinner tonight. *bites fingernails*
I'm about to make tempura vegetables, which is the easy part. Premixed batter, vegetables all chopped up, wok at the ready.
But then I have to make the sushi rice which is going to be the hard part because me? I'm a slave to my microwave rice cooker. Sushi rice involves absorption method and adding of rice wine vinegar and sugar and salt and then waving of fans (I kid you not) to cool it down.
Eeep.
I've made some teriyaki chicken and some spicy beef strips and some tuna salad mix, and the Boy has some fresh salmon and wasabi lined up just for him. If the rice turns out, we'll be rolling up sushi rolls in about an hour's time. Pray for me, will you? I've had wine!
