OK, I was doing the equivalent of my Tuesday Torrent Watching routine. :) I've been keeping an eye on my friends page all day in the hopes of spotting this fic. It is soooo good. I also totally love how you didn't tie it all up neatly in a bow at the end and have Sara run with them to Mexico. It makes more sense that Michael just rescues her (token of good faith) and then wants to return her to her father. Although she's not really safe with him either given that he's been bought by the Evil President.
After a long time, he wipes his hand across his wet face - he doesn’t remember crying
Yes! You saw it, too. I was thinking - is he crying or just suffering allergies from being in that bloody dusty shack! He looked like he was crying, he sounded like he was crying.
“I wasn’t honest with you about a lot of things.” This isn’t the time or the place that he wanted to be having this conversation, but his plans have never run smoothly when it comes to Sara Tancredi. “There were a lot of things I couldn’t tell you, but ( ... )

*coughs*
I may also just be leaving my options open. Hee.
Thanks so much for the kind words *and* the rec on your LJ. :)

It's totally unreasonable to ask for a sequel to a sequel so I won't, but I'll imply it quite heavily, because you finished that with a promise, and a hope, and I'm really wishing for spoilers to inspire you into writing something about when they run into each other next.
Which, logically, has to be shortly after this. I dare say Michael couldn't last much longer, anyway, poor boy. He really needs Sara to know that Sara doesn't hate him, and that she just hates the circumstances.
maybe they should just go and throw stones at her bedroom window.
LINCOLN SNARK = ♥

Well, I *did* leave it very open at the end there, didn't I? Mwah ha ha!

Oh yes. He's so much fun to write now that he's out. Hee!

Oh, this made me all warm and fuzzy with the love, the longing, the angst... Poor Michael. Poor Sara. Poor Michael and Sara! Will those two crazy kids ever work this thing out? We certainly hope so. ;)
Thank you for writing this, it's incredible. :D

Lincoln glances at Michael, then at Sara, then clears his throat loudly. “I’ll check the house. Wait here.”
I seriously cackled at that. So damn Linc.
It's so much easier to gauge her reaction to him now that we've had first contact, isn't it? Before 2.4 I had no idea how she was going to react to him, but now we definitely have a general direction. That's what I love about this fic as well, it's so in character for her. Both Michael and Sara have hard characterizations to nail down, so to read fic where both of them are so well written is rare indeed. But you always have them down so perfectly. Excellent fic.

Oh, yes indeedy. That first contact was always going to be so important and having it happen the way it did was totally beyond my wildest dreams and I still flail all over the place whenever I think about it.

So very true. I was still on such a high today that when I was at work I couldn't stop thinking about it and how awesome and perfect the whole scene was and I grinned like a fool at the most inappropriate times. I'm sure everyone thinks I'm insane now, but I don't care!
