Nataline Sarkisyan died tonight...

Dec 20, 2007 20:05

I hate to use this word, because it has been dragged through the mud by abuse in the Middle East, but we must pause to honor a martyr.

The Armenian people are no strangers to martyrdom. They suffered a shoah before my own people did, and the silence of the World in the face of the Armenian Holocaust emboldened Adolph Hitler to draw up his plans for his "Final Solution."

Today there are martyrs created every day by the Murder By Spreadsheet industry. Whether it is for lack of access, or for mendacious, depraved calculations that deprive those who played by the rules the health care they have been promised, people literally die every day underserved by the for-profit sickness industry.

We must remember Nataline Sarkisyan as we in California go into battle against Arnie-Care, this hideous bastard system that Schwarzenegger is trying to foist on us. Mandates that line insurance company pockets do not bring us any closer to HEALTH CARE FOR ALL. We have Massachusetts to look to. It's not working there.

We must remember Nataline Sarkisyan as we fight for a national solution for health care. We should throw her memory in the faces of people like Hillary and Obama, and yes, even at Edwards in spite of the fact he's closest to supporting true HEALTH CARE FOR ALL of all the major candidates. What will you do, Democratic Candidate, to ensure that never again will a precious child like Nataline Sarkisyan be Murdered by Spreadsheet? What will you do to make sure no person has to die because of an insurance company's decision? Will you support MEDICARE FOR ALL or will you continue to play the tunes your insurance company paymasters want you to play?

To ensure that Nataline Sarkisyan has not suffered her martyrdom in vain, we need to redouble our efforts. ENOUGH. BASTA. We have had ENOUGH and we will not rest until the insurance bean counters and the insurance industry lobbyists can no longer work their mischief.

Never forget Nataline Sarkisyan. No more Murder by Spreadsheet.

Some background on the situation.
