Evil plans for costuming are hurtling around at light-speed...
Well it looks like #3 on my list is going to be completed first. Through some eBay-ing and other scroungings, I have found:
1.) A navy blue jumpsuit that fits me absolutely perfectly, as if tailored to me, and has a collar arrangement that can be easily altered to give a "mandarin collar" effect. It looks less like a mechanics coveralls and more like a uniform for a Republic Scout Service regular with this mod.
2.) Republic insignia, one for each shoulder.
3.) Military-style name tapes, in AURABESH (!), made by a company that normally makes name tapes for US Armed Forces and Law Enforcement.
4.) A Nerf gun, which will be the sidearm I wear with this outfit once it finishes being modded into Star Wars-iness. The Nerf route was decided on when it became clear that my Rebel Legion Base and our allies in the 501st Legion are very fond of Nerf dart wars. Here's the guns that I bid on, as they will be looking in new condition:
Luckily I got outbid on the big honkin' carbine and pistol set. The pistol would have been ideal for the outfit but the carbine...I was going to sell it and the vest to hopefully make some money back. However, not having to pay for the ensemble is even better. I've been spending on this like a drunken sailor.
Things I already have to "make it work"...
1.) A black vest that looks amazingly like Han Solo's vest from the original "Star Wars" movie. However, I suspect that Lucasfilm did not have product placement deals with Rocawear, the hip-hop clothing manufacturer, so that's the "why" for the name tapes. I need to cover over the Rocawear logo on the bottom of the right pocket. So I'll have Thareen's serial number, in Aurabesh numerals, on that particular tape. Unlike the others, which will be velcro-ed for reconfigurability, this one will stay put. BTW her serial number is 09-15-12-15-08-05, or in hexadecimal 0x9FCF85. That was, as far as I can remember, the original character stats for Thareen in the Traveller game where she was first created.
2.) A pair of black Timberland hiking boots.
3.) Belt pouches that can be switched off from the Jedi belt to a black web belt which needs to be purchased.
4.) Weightlifting gloves for that "utility glove" effect.
Things I need...
1.) Black web belt with black nylon clasp.
2.) Paint, nurnies, greeblies and maybe an old crappy gun scope for the gun modding project.
3.) More Nerf darts.
4.) Some sort of head gear. Not sure yet what kind.
5.) A holster that will fit the gun I decide to use.
So as you can see, this project is coming together amazingly quickly.
